Well, let's see. It's May 9th '07. File Manager says I last worked on RFT (Robotic Forex Trader) on 1/18/07
My god, time does fly, doesn't it?
So.... what've I been doing these 3+months? Well, the wifey and I went to Thailand for a couple weeks. Then got back to the US and I dunno... just got caught-up in things, I guess. Oh yeah, I put roboticforex.com up ...and I learned a little SEO ...seems to be working ...starting to get some traffic (thank you, if anyone's reading this) - and got a few of you (Jason, Frank and others) who've expressed interest in doing beta testing when RFT's ready. Right now if I want to change a backtest, let's say, I have to dig-into the code by hand and recompile it.
So I'm working on making all the entry/position sizing/trailing stop etc rules all selectable from drop-down lists. It'll get there. Also am reading "How To Solve It: Modern Heuristics" by Zbigniew Michalewicz & David B. Fogel. I think it'll really help me develop genetic algorithms/genetic programming techniques to avoid brute-force (exhaustive-search) backtesting. |
